SSN Admin: Sites and Lists Tab (Summer 2005)

NOTE: This topic applies only to the Summer 2005 Special Site Navigation (SSN) web part. If you are working with a different release, please see SSN Admin: Sites and Lists Tab (Winter 2006 and later releases) or SSN: Web Part Properties instead.

As of the Summer 05 release, the administration interface includes a Sites and Lists tab that is used to select the list, list view, and columns to utilize to manage navigation.

Site URL

This field is used to define the URL for the site where the list for the navigation structure is located. This can be any SharePoint site that resides on the same server as this web part. If this field is left blank, it will default to the URL where the web part is placed.

The format for the URL is http://Site-URL/SiteName.

Examples:

      http://www.sitename.com/

      http://www.sitename.com/site1

      http://www.sitename.com/site1/site1a

To remove selected URL from this area, highlight the URL you want to remove from the box below this field and click Remove.

List Name

This field is used to identify the name of the list that manages the navigation structure.

List View

This field is used to identify the name of the list view that manages the display of the navigation structure. This is used to manage the order of the returned lists.

List Fields

This field is used to identify the names of the fields that correspond to each required display element of the navigation structure; each field name should be separated by a pipe (|). These fields come directly from the named list and are used to display the link title and a link to where the link should go. These fields must be part of the List View identified above.
