I do not see the same sites that someone else does.

This is because you do not have the same rights as someone else. You can only see those sites which you have permission to access.

I receive the error "The format of the URL you specified is incorrect."

This means that the URL you entered in the web part’s "Status Properties" field can not be understood. Please go to the Status Properties field and double-check how you specified the URL. The format of the URL must be either http://Site-URL or http://Site-URL/Sub-Site-Name.

I can’t figure out the order in which site collections and sub-areas are displayed. They aren’t alphabetical.

Before the Spring 07 release, site collections and sub-areas were displayed in order by creation date. As of Spring 07, they are displayed in alphabetical order.
