Troubleshooting

I do not see the same sites that someone else does.

This is because you do not have the same rights as someone else. Only items from those sites to which you have access will be presented to you.

I added a new SharePoint Site, but I don't see it in the CorasWorks Client's Sites menu.

Click on the CorasWorks Client program (the CW icon in your Windows System Tray), point to CorasWorks Client, and then click Refresh. After you receive the "Refresh Complete" message, you should see your new sites in the Client's Sites menu. If you still do not see the new sites, verify the site is displayed in the Workplace View Advanced web part connected to the Client. If it is not displayed, you may need to update the Workplace View Advanced's Site URL and Levels Searched properties via the administration interface.

Items are not downloading to my Outlook.

This can be caused by any of the following:

You specified a URL to a page that does not contain a Summary web part connected to an Outlook web part.

You have multiple Outlook web parts and summary web parts connected to each other on the same page. This is not supported. Only one Outlook web part and one summary web part can be connected at the same time on the same page.

You do not have permission to create items in the Outlook folder in which you are attempting to download SharePoint items. Verify that you can create items in the Outlook folder by opening Outlook and manually creating an item in the folder.

You have connected an incompatible web part to the Outlook web part. Only the CorasWorks Summary web parts are supported for connections to the Outlook web parts.

You have chosen an Outlook folder that is not the same base type as the connected Summary web. For example, you are trying to download your Task summary items to an Outlook calendar. This is not supported.

You have anonymous access enabled for the site. When anonymous access is enabled for a site collection, the CorasWorks Client is not prompted for your user credentials and therefore uses the anonymous account, and not your user account, to access the site. You will only see items which anonymous users are able to access.

Reminders are not set on my Outlook items after I download them from SharePoint.

You are downloading the SharePoint items to an Outlook folder other than your default Calendar or Tasks list. Outlook does not permit reminders to be set for any other folders.

I cannot see one or more of my favorites that I have added to the CorasWorks Client.

When specifying a CorasWorks Client favorite site link, you must make sure that each favorite added is added with the following syntax: <Favorite Title,Favorite URL>.  To add more than one favorite, you must separate each favorite with a semicolon and no spaces.

Example:
My Favorite Site Title,http://www.myfavorite.com;Test Site Title,http://www.test.com;Your Favorite Site Title,http://www.site.com

There are no sites in my CorasWorks Client.

In order for the CorasWorks Client to properly display sites within its menus, you must connect the client to a Workplace View Advanced web part that has its Site URL property pointing to a top level SharePoint site.

The sites in my CorasWorks Client don't match the sites in the connected Workplace View Advanced.

You may have anonymous access enabled for the site. When anonymous access is enabled for a site collection, the Client is not prompted for your user credentials and therefore uses the anonymous account, and not your user account, to access the site. You will only see items that anonymous users are able to access.

Log in to the site, go to the page where the Client web part is installed, and click the Refresh Client button (do not use the Refresh option in the system tray). This will download your sites list to the CorasWorks Client using the user credentials instead of the anonymous user account.

Outlook starts whenever the CorasWorks Client starts. Is this normal?

This is by design. The CorasWorks Client is tightly integrated with Microsoft Outlook.

How do I remove the CorasWorks Client program from my computer?

1.  If the CorasWorks Client program is running in your taskbar, you can close it by left-clicking the Client icon, pointing to Client, and clicking Exit.

2.  Close any Internet Explorer windows you have open.

3.  Open your My Computer and navigate to C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files

4.  Right-Click any CorasWorks icons and select Remove.

All Outlook web parts should now be removed from your computer. If you visit a web page that has an Outlook web part on it, they will be automatically reinstalled.
