Overview

Introduced as part of the Winter 2005 release, WSS Search™ (WSS) performs a full-text search of a WSS site and a specified number of levels of its sub-sites (including attachments) and then displays the search results based upon a user’s entry.

This web part allows the administrator to specify a starting URL and the number of site levels to include in the search.  Users can search within lists, libraries, or both. Because the starting URL can be defined, a WSS Search web part that is placed on one site can search for results within another.
