Settings Tab

The Design Migrator’s Settings Tab is where the majority of the configuration options for the application are defined. A “Save Settings” option is available from the File menu to save the Design Migrator settings. When this option is selected, all of the information on the Settings Tab (except the user’s password) are saved in the migration definition and can be recalled at any time.

When you are finished entering all appropriate information on the Settings tab, you can click Next to move on to the Sites & Files tab, where you will select the specific sites and pages to be migrated. Note that the Next button is not available until you have provided at least a Log In and Password.

User Name

Your user name for the web server where the sites to be migrated are located.

Password

The corresponding password for the above user name. This is the only piece of information on the Settings tab that is NOT included when you choose to save the Design Migrator settings.

SharePoint Settings

Levels to Search

The number of levels down from the Root Site identified below to look for additional sites to migrate.

Web Service Server

The server where the Design Migrator web service is located. This must be identified as a complete address (including the http:// or https:// protocol).

Root Site

The URL of the highest level site that you wish to migrate. As with the Web Service Server, this must be identified as a complete address (including the http:// or https:// protocol). You will be able to select additional sites and pages below this URL on a later tab.

Template Page URL

The URL of the SharePoint 2007 site to be used as a template. This should be identified as a complete address (including the http:// or https:// protocol and the page name). The next tab on the user interface allows you to select a different template page if you choose, but the URL identified here is the default template applied.

If you do not identify the full URL with an .aspx page, the Design Migrator will default to default.aspx.

Options

Update Email Notification Pages

For those customers who have enabled CorasWorks Email Notification in your lists and libraries, this process ensures that the corresponding New and Edit form pages are also migrated. This option is enabled by default, but can be disabled if you are using the Design Migrator to migrate pages created with a different vendor’s product.

Create Migration Log

This option is enabled by default. When enabled, the Design Migrator will automatically create a .txt file that logs all of the operations performed during a Design Migrator session. It also states the configuration settings. The log file is saved in the application installation directory, and assigned a unique file name (e.g., MigrationLog-128117078661693040) for each Design Migrator session. A message will state the migration log file name and location when you close the Design Migrator.

Update List Views

This option is enabled by default. When enabled, the Design Migrator will repair the list views that may not work correctly after being upgraded. See Upgraded List Views and Site Templates for further details.
