NOTE: This topic applies only to existing CorasWorks customers who are upgrading from a previous release of the Workplace Suite to the Winter 2007 release.
To simplify the migration process for our existing customers who are upgrading to Winter 2007, CorasWorks offers three additional templates that can be used to migrate sites that you have created based on CorasWorks solutions. These templates mimic the web part zone structure of our solutions. They are the same templates that CorasWorks used to migrate and test our solutions internally.
This template has all of the navigation in the master page. Use this template when you have only added web parts to the Main, Left, Right, or Bottom zones. This template does not migrate any web parts in navigational zones.
This template has all of the navigation in the master page except the zone for the WVA. Use this template when you want the WVA in the content page or have placed web parts in the WVA zone.
Use this template when navigation for the site is in two separate lists or you have added web parts to Workplace Activity Navigation, Menu Navigation, Tab Navigation, or View Navigation.
Each of the three above templates includes several master pages. There are two main functions that make these master pages different:
• Top Link Bar Tabs – The tabs that Microsoft adds to an upgraded site, shown under the site title
• Workplace Tasks – Introduced in CorasWorks’ Summer 2006 release
The Standard template and the WVA template each include four master pages to contain all possible variations of these two key features.
The All Zones template includes two master pages, both of which contain the zone for workplace tasks. So if Workplace Tasks was in the site before migration, it will be migrated.
The default master page used by each template is CW.master. If you want to use a different master page, you will need to create a site using the template and then select a different master page via the Site Settings in SharePoint. Once that has been done, you can run the Design Migrator.
